Azizulhasni Awang Raih Perak.

Azizulhasni Awang

Tewas aksi final pecut

Congratulations to the Malaysian Ice Hockey Team for winning the bronze medal at the 2009 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 13th to 22nd March 2009. The tournament, in its 2nd edition, is for non-winter countries in the Asian region. The countries participating in this year’s tournament are Hong Kong, India, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand and host UAE.

By finishing third in this year’s tournament, the Malaysian team retained the bronze medal won in 2008, in spite of having to overcome a lot of adversities, such as losing the team’s star player, Kim Loke, the 2008 tournament’s MVP, through injury, during the second match (against Thailand) and being the only team without an international size Ice Hockey rink to train on. Coach Patrick MacDonald offered his praises for his teams players, who through a very demanding training regimen again produced results against all odds for Malaysia. The players have proven yet again that dedication, hard work, and preparation are always a recipe for success.

In addition to winning the bronze medal, two Malaysian players, namely, Jamil David bin Ahmad Mokhtar, who was awarded the “Best Defenseman” of the tournament, and Tengku Muhd Azlly bin Tengku Abdullah, who won the “Best Goaltender” award.

“Hafiz memang pemain bagus sejak dulu lagi.

KEPUTUSAN: Separuh Akhir Perseorangan Lelaki
Taufik Hidayat (Ina) mn Tommy Sugiarto (Ina) 21-13, 21-11. HAFIZ HASHIM (MAS) mln Chen Long (Chn) 21-18, 19-21, 21-15

Perseorangan Wanita
JULIA WONG (MAS) mn Zhang Beiwen (Chn) 19-21, 21-13, 21-15. Pi Hongyan (Fra) mn Yu Hirayama (Jpn) 21-7, 21-14.

Beregu Lelaki:
Hendri Kurniawan Saputra-Hendra Wijaya (Sin) mn Alvent Yulianto-Hendra Gunawan (Ina) 21-13, 21-15. CHOONG TAN FOOK-LEE WAN WAH (MAS) mn Joko Riyadi-Candra Wijaya (Ina) 21-6, 22-20.

Kejutan Rizal

Raih gangsa 1km Ujian Masa

KEPUTUSAN
1 Stefan Nimke (GER) 1 minit 00.666 saat; 2 Taylor Phinney (AS) 1:01.611; 3 Mohd Rizal Tisin (MAS) 1:01.658; 4 Michael D’Almeida (FRA) 1:02.034; 5 Scott Sunderland (AUS) 1:02.144; 6 Teun Mulder (NED) 1:02.209; 7 David Daniell (GBR) 1:02.316; 8 Kamil Kuczynski (POL) 1:02.356; 9 Quentin Lafargue (FRA) 1:02.669; 10 Edward Dawkins (NZL) 1:02.685.

Chong Wei tersingkir awal gara-gara keracunan makanan

National Netball Carnival 2009

The Malaysian Netball Association, under the leadership of its President, YB Puan Suraya binte Yaacob, organized the National Netball Carnival 2009 at Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. The objectives of the Carnival was to promote and introduce Netball as a family sport for physical activity for fun and health enhancement as well as an elite sport which is competed at World, Commonwealth and Asian levels. Thus at the Carnival, Netball was introduced to boys teams, who competed among themselves. There were also modified Netball, such as 3 in 3 Netball, 5 on 5 mix males and females Netball, as well as competitions for Under 14 years children and Veterans.

Free medical examinations were provided for the participants, exhibitions were put up by the National Sports Council Malaysia and the Institute of Sports Malaysia and sports equipment companies.

Another objective of the Carnival was to publicize Malaysia hosting the 7th Asian Netball Championship at the above venue in the third week of June 2009. Ten countries, including Malaysia have registered to participate. One of the aims of the Malaysian Netball Association is to include Netball in the Southeast Asian Games and the Asian Games. To achieve the above aim, the Malaysian Netball Association has to popularize Netball not only in Southeast Asia, but also in Asia.

The Carnival was officially declared opened by the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob

4th National Handball League 2009

The 4th National Handball League 2009 began on 22nd March 2009 from 9.00 a.m. at OCM Indoor Sports Arena, Jalan Hang Jebat, Kuala Lumpur. A total of 10 men’s teams, including a team comprising expatriates living in Malaysia and 10 women’s teams are participating in the League.

From the experience of the first three National Leagues, the Malaysian Handball Federation decided to modify the competition rules of the 4th National League by reducing the playing time to 2 halves of 10 minutes each. The shorten playing time allowed each team to play two matches on the day, thus reducing cost and time and also allowed better quality matches, as the players played a much faster game.

The Malaysian Handball Federation is to be congratulated on its initiatives in modifying the local competition rules, such as reducing the playing time, to suit the local environment. As the standard of Handball in Malaysia is not at all high and is only being developed from scratch, there is no benefit in playing Handball in full compliance with the competition rules of World Cup or Olympic Games, or even Asian Games. Thus as beginners, the important objective is to allow the players easier access to competitions and to play more often. After all, it would take a long time, before Malaysian Handball standards can reach even Asian standards.

5th OCM-Pharmaton Ex-Internationals Golf Challenge

Following the success of the Inaugural Ex Internationals Golf Challenge in 2003, the 2nd Challenge in 2004, the 3rd Challenge in 2005 and the 4th Challenge in 2007, the OCM will be organizing the 5th OCM-Pharmaton Ex-Internationals Golf Challenge on Tuesday, 28th April 2009 at the Kelab Golf Seri Selangor (KGSS).

The purpose of this event is to bring together former Malaysian international athletes from all sports and to provide a socially enjoyable environment for them to meet, interact and reminiscence. As in previous years, about 100 ex-internationals are expected to participate in the event. The inter-sport team competition will be for the Datuk Dr. M. Jegathesan Challenge Trophy.

For those who are interested to participate in this year’s challenge, please submit the entry form to OCM by 20th April 2009. For details or clarification, please contact the office of the Olympic Council of Malaysia by telephone +603-2175 2802 or email HYPERLINK "mailto:fong @ olympic. org. my" fong@ olympic. org. my. Entry forms could be down-loaded from OCM’s Website HYPERLINK  "http: //www. olympic. org.my" www. olympic. org.my .

1st OCA Congress 2009

The 1st OCA Congress was successfully held and concluded in Kuwait City from 12th to 14th March 2009. Out of the 45 Asian NOCs, only 24 NOCs presented papers, with the largest number of papers being presented by representatives of Iran, China, Japan and Korea.

On the very important topic of Asian Games and Youth Sports, only three out of the eleven papers directly touched on the large number of Games and Sports in the OCA calendar, resulting in increased burdens on the NOCs to source funds to participate, to prepare the athletes and to carry out the administration work in submitting data for accreditation and entries. As a result of the discussion on the above topic, the “One Sport-One Games, One Games-One Year” resolution was included in the Kuwait Declaration.

The “One Sport-One Games, One Games-One Year” concept means that no one sport will be included in more than one Games in the OCA Calendar and there will only be one “Asian” Games in any one year. The “One Sport-One Games” is easy to achieve, but the “One Games-One Year” will be difficult, if not impossible to achieve, unless OCA is prepared to drop 2 of the Games from its present Calendar of 6 Games in 4 years.

In addition, in Asia, there are also the Regional Games, such as the Central Asian Games, the East Asian Games, the South Asian Games, the Southeast Asian Games and the West Asian Games. Besides the above Regional Games, some Asian countries also participate in the Commonwealth Games, the Francophonea Games, etc.

Kalau tak cukup... try to read a story about a daughter's story of his ever demanding father.... in the Sunday Star today.. just a page before '"Dear Telma". How a dog could change a man's life and about the dog too...

So frens... life is too short.. make the best out of it and enjoy it...

Kesian her... she is sick. InsyAllah she'll recover soon... hope it is only a minor sakit.... To her; take care and Get Well Soon.

Sometimes and correctly.. most of the times..it is mind over matters. If we think that we are tired... then we are. So even we are really tired but if we were not to think about it..and just say that we can do it... then we definitely can.

Many a times I do feel that I am having a blockage artery.. I am feeling the pain in my chest but the doctor always said that I am imagining things cos after several checkups.. nothing negative came up. OK fine.. but lately there are incidence that what ever I am holding... i let it to slip off.. especially during the morning baths... the soap..and toothbrush... but my BP is excellent. Well... I think I am imagining things.. just like the doctor said. So I must be stronger... mentally and should dismiss all the negative thoughts... yeah.. must learn to think +ve at all times.

On local sports... Congrats to Datuk Lee Chong Wei on winning the Swiss Open and so to the pair of KKK and TBH. Also to Zulmarzan for regaining the Malaysian Bowling Open title...and hope our track cyclists were to win big in Poland next week. About the Malaysian F1... any one going to SIC? Can we go in groups? Anyone???

Oue Exco had their 1st meeting of the present session yesterday... Hope everything went well and I have high regards to the present set up.. and I have the strong confidence that our beloved club, Famemas were to go places from now on...we'll prosper for the better. God willing.

Till next time...regards to all... and please smile.....

APEX CLUB of KLANG - Charity Climathon

APEX CLUB of KLANG - Charity Climathon

Apex is a service organization that addresses the needs of the handcapped, the destitute, the less fortunate and the underprivileged through the relentless efforts of its members, and with the contributions from well wishers and supporters.

15th - 18th May ‘2009 (4 Days 3 Nights Mount Kinabalu)
• Package Cost : RM 1,250, (if AirAsia flights are booked on 19th Mar ‘09)
In line with that, The Apex Club of Klang would be organising a “Charity Climathon” on the date as above to raise funds for the following projects.

Fund Raising Objective
Sheltered Workshop for Special Children

To raise RM 250,000 for the building of a Sheltered Workshop to be build at the Special School in Southern Park, Klang managed by the Selangor Association for Retarded Children (SARC). Via this Charity Climathon we are expecting to raise at least RM 100,000 through public donations. Tax exempt receipts will be issued. Cheques can either be made payable to Apex Club of Klang or SARC. Todate a sum of RM 150,000 has been raised.

At present there are about 130 special children getting their education in this school (SARC). After completing their skills study (age 17), almost all of them find it difficult to land a job as they are physically challenged as well. With the building of the Sheltered Workshop, these students would be self-employed in-house to maximise their skills in producing products (to be identified) which would be sold. This concept is to self-empower this special children to be self dependent.

Fishing Boats for Orang Asli Fishermen ( “Mah Meri” )

This orang asli settlement along the coastal areas in Tanjung Harapan, Port Klang houses around 19 families. Their livelihood is fishing and at present they rent the boats from the tout’s at a fixed rental rate of RM 40.00 per day. On top of that they are also required to sell whatever catch they make for the day to the tout’s at a very discounted price. They are definitely suppressed to the maximise.

This was brought to the attention of “The Apex Club of Klang” in Oct. ‘08 and an article on this was carried in the Star dated. 29th Oct. ‘08. Our objective is to at least raise a sum of RM 28,000 , that would help to purchase 4 boats for their fishing activities thus empowering them to earn what should rightfully be theirs without the interference of the tout’s. Use of the boats would be rotated among the 19 families.

Akhirnya Chong Wei Sekat Lin Dan

Kien Keat-Boon Heong raih gelaran beregu Siri Super Terbuka Switzerland

Peluang Chong Wei Tebus Kekalahan Ke Atas Lin Dan Esok

Perlawanan akhir acara beregu campuran membabitkan pasangan China, Lee Yong Dae-Lee Hyo Jung menentang Zheng Bo-Ma Jin.

Celoteh Kepten Shafari - MU & MP

Hi all,

its been almost a month the last time I wrote. Well..pretty busy lately but the thought of being detained for being 'menderhaka' was there...hehe afraid that I'll masok again... and the fine of RM10K is too high a stake but then in one's mission of seeking justice, peace, harmony and for the betterment of our next generations..it is well..worth every seconds of it. Berani kerana benar!! And in our struggle for upholding those principles...one should not feel intimidated by the authority of the day!!

MU lost 1-4 to Liverfools. Well.. congrats to all Liverfoolsdians...but even as a staunch supporter of MU, I was really happy MU to loose. Made some money lor.. If one could recall, in one of the matches a year ago.. Sir Alex made 3 replacements and moments later they were playing with 10 men and they lost by 3 goals. Last nite.. it happened again. I raised my stake... and Sir Alex and Vidic must be laughing going to the bank.... but I could only smile.. RM50 richer...hehe

Teresa Kok is drawing about RM32K per month. State EXCOs is making RM17K a month. No wonder many are vying to become MPs and EXCOs! And with the many projects 'masok pocket"... no wonder they can become millionaires. Itu opposition... kalau on the other side... lagi BOLEH!! heheh

Batang Ai, Bukit Selambau, Bukit Gantang and later (may be)...Bukit Lanjan will all face by-elections. May be this time the SPR will be having so many contractors fighting among themselves to supply tents and canopys for PDRM. Remember in Kuala Trengganu? Amount spent on tents and canopys was RM6M. Siapa tak mahu..right?

SPM result was out and again...the story of high achievers were in every newspapers and on TVs. I remember during my survey to the homes of Pakistani soldiers while doing my writeup when I was in Pakistan Military Academy. There was one house ...we were interviewing the mother of 3 sons who all died in the war (with India on 70s). She cried and cried while telling us about her children. Well...the surprising part was when she told us the reason she cried was that she felt sad since she got no more son to fight in the war!! It was not so much of losing them!! Well.. back to SPM high achievers.. I have this friend whose both daughters (twins) scored 10As and now he is regretting to have 3 kids only!! hehehe Humans huh...never feel satisfied with what they have.

Do I feel satisfied too? Not yet...not till I can have a dinner date with her... heheh

Hey Famemas... when can we have a gathering? I mean informal get together. What about jogging in FRIM? It is a good place and one can jog even in the afternoons... and we can race up the hill.. makan is quite ok and cheap too at the canteen. And canopy walk? Please lah...try to organise something.

Ok guys.. I do feel like missing you all...the shouts, the laughters, the arguments...the kind and harsh words and many more. Dont get me wrong... it is not only about her...heheh but all of you Famemasians.

Take care... where ever you are. My prayers for a better world to all of us.

Chao....
