Malaysian Supporters left stranded on roadsides at Guangzhou Asian Games due to ticket touts

Guangzhou, 24 November 2010:

Ticket touts spoil Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 image

Groups of ticket touts are indeed spoiling Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 image by systematically hoarding venue tickets, thus denying passionate, keen and patriotic supporters and parents of athletes from Malaysia, from enjoying the Games. This scenario also applies to supporters from other Asian nations as well.

Kelab Penyokong Sukan Malaysia or Kelab Famemas Malaysia is currently in Guangzhou for 8 days from 20-28 Nov to give fervent support and uplift the morale of our Malaysian athletes to ensure that the 9 gold medals target are met.

However, they have not been able to gain access to the sports venues and games that involve Malaysian athletes, from the date and time of arrival, up to this time of press release.

Chairman of the club, Lee Hui Seng says 'Most of the tickets were sold out within days, two months ago, when ticket sales were open to Chinese nationals.Tickets should also be allocated to supporters who arrive from abroad during Games'.

An example is the price of tickets for the Lin Dan - Dato' Lee Chong Wei final was priced by touts of up to RMB3500 (RM1750) whereas the original ticket price was only RMB200 (RM100) only. Athletics price tickets shot up to RMB50 whereas counter price is RMB10...the ticket touts are having a field day with the exhorbitant prices up to a point of paralysing the attendance at venues where it remains empty and only a handful of spectators were able to attend albeit local people getting free ticket through government lottery type allocation.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and OCM (Malaysia) should allocate reasonable accreditation passes to deserving people to ensure that the attendance of these people are truly meaningful and contribute to the sports success of the nation.

This is a shamble and an utter disgrace to the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and the very people who are supposed to cheer on our team were denied the opportunity.

Most stadiums were not full and yet ticket counters display notices that tickets are sold out eg hockey and diving venues.

We suggest that a selected number of tickets be made available to walkin supporters on the day of events prior to the start of the games and to foreigners, should audience attendance be not forthcoming.

We call upon our Malaysian sport authorities to take up this matter with the relevant Organising Committee seriously to ensure this fiasco is not repeated.

Attached pictures show Malaysian supporters idling by roadside upon hearing that access to the venues are not available and tickets touts freely mingling with public offering exorbitant ticket prices for sale.

For further information, please call Lee Hui Seng (Chairman) at Guangzhou local number 0086-13247687357 or 6012-329 3378 and Hafidz Zihim (Secretary) on 0086- 13794341134

Celoteh Kepten Shafari - Macam-macam

Captain Snake

So our 16 passionate supporters are in Guangzhou now. Hope they'll enjoy their week long stay there and cheering hard for Malaysian athletes. Hope we'll get more than the targeted 9 golds. Malaysia Boleh!!

LCWei lost. It is fine to me cos it is already hard to beat Lin Dan.. and it is harder to do it in his den. To me, LCWei is like Lionel Messi... flair, skill, grace... and just nice to watch him play whereas.. Lin Dan is Drogba to me... robust, physical & all the dirty intimidating movements. And to some extent.. Lin Dan is like Ballack..'berlagak' .. show off type.

Sorry Razlin.. to drag your Ballack here...

Except for diving, badminton & cycling... the other medals that Malaysia won are from non Olympic games/sports like Wushu, Bowling, Squash, Billiard, Takraw and maybe Kabbadi. So..nothing great to show about. Whatever it is.. Congratulations to all the medal winners...irrespective of the colours. Maybe we should include congkak next time or hantu galah... heheh

So 2010 is nearing to the end. I thought I had just wished Happy Birthday to Si Dia and now I am looking forward to see my luck in 2011. Will she say something to me in 2011? Will she ask me for dinner? or for a movie? heheheh "Perigi mencari timba"... no it wont happen. She has that dignity and pride and more so... I am already an old stubborn man. But then... kalau hati sudah suka.... tidak kira tua atau muda..." hehehe.. Oh yeah... why must I still hope for something that is very unlikely to happen? Against all odds? Why? And then I just hope for miracles to happen cos I dont make any attempt? Well.. well.. I think I am a little crazy. As much as I wanted to.. but since there are so many factors that are against me... I just want it to be as it is. Syiok sendiri.... and mind you... it has been since 2003.

So to Si Dia... maafkan saya ok. Just cant help it and this has made me to go on with my life... as it is.

There is trouble in Chelsea. Ray Wilkin was dismissed and Ancelloti has started to show his displeasure. And as I see it.. a club should not be owned by an individual or of a smaller group of businessmen. It must be by many shareholders. Abrahamnovich is using his power to meddle with the club and thus created problems and leading Chelsea to lose a few matches. "Maybe he is selling a few games".. as what gamblers are seeing. And maybe it is good for EPL too cos there wont be any run away team...leading with many points. But then, it is not good for the sports though I might like it as I am not a Chelsea fan.

MU is getting back its momentum? Well.. MU is a sure team in EPL and in many Malaysian hearts too. Maybe you hate MU but the fact is ... it is the Greatest team on our planet. heheheh MU Boleh!

And surprises!! Bolton and Blackfool are among the top. Can they sustain it? And the season is still young... many more matches to be played. Congratulations to them. They are making EPL more lively.

Not bad for our hockey and football teams in GAG. They deserved some nice and kind words. And I hope they'll maintain the form if not improving on it.

Azizul Hasni Awang and Josiah.. 1-2 for Malaysia. Tahniah and the feat should be dedicated to the late Daud Ibrahim and ... alFatihah... the man, together with Joo Ngan who changed the cycling sport scenario in Malaysia.

MAHA.. an international level of agriculture products show is about to be unveiled this week at UPM. You guys better see it cos it is just interesting. Better bring along your umbrellas and put on Phua Chu Kang's yellow boots cos it is going to be a very wet show.

School holidays are back and students are sitting for SPM papers. I do like this cuti sekolah cos I can wake up a little late and yet arrive to office on time. Less traffic rush in the mornings. And made me less mad too.... and therefore lesser sins from the curses and tempers... heheh

Oh... the celoteh is getting too long.

bye....

capt...teringat dekat anak-anak yang tersayang. Love u ..Haikal, Amira and Fahteen.

Celoteh Kepten Shafari - HAPPY DEEPAVALI & HISTORY

Salam 1 Malaysia!

Tomorrow is the Festival of Lights and Happy Deepavali to all my Hindu friends.

Memories SEA Games in Vietnam 2003

Well guys... let us divert our mind to sports now.

MU won in champions League. Spurs beat the Champions, Inter Milan 3-1. Wow... these are facts. maybe our kids will learn this too in their history classes.

And Nani scored a bizzare goal... against Spurs over the weekend. Well.. blame the referee then. Liverfool is still trying to get out of the relegation zone. She'll definitely can. But she cant overtake MU... not again this season and not in next season... But Congrats to Liverfool... at least they got a new owner now.

In MU.. paying 200,000 pound for a week to Rooney the looney... it is absurd..plain stupidity. If Wilshere was offered only 50,00 pound per week in Arsenal... then.. if I were to be Alex Ferguson... I'll have 4 Wilsheres than a lone Roo. But then Roo is good on bed huh... boleh suruh di jadi pelakun juga.... in Emmanuel popular series in 80s....

To those Famemasians going to Guangzhou Asian Gemes... cheer hard and enjoy the trip. Go and come back safely ok.

Ok .. till here. Got to back to work.

Happy Deepavali and Happy Weekend.

Take care

Capt... teringat anak gadis En Hafidz... si manis itu ada mirip si Dia. Tapi bila teringat si Dia...teringin pula nak beristeri lagi... hehehehe

tapi si Dia mungkin menyampah dengan si Aku ini... so, baiknya si Aku remain solo lagi.
Period.
