News Items

13th OCM Executive Board Meeting

The 13th OCM Executive Board Meeting was held on 15th June 2010 at 4.30 p.m. at OCM Board Room. The following matters were decided:-
  • Approved the report of the SEAG Federation meetings held in Jakarta on 29th and 30th May 2010 presented by Ms. Low Beng Choo.
  • Approved the report of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay held in Melaka on 12th June 2010.
  • Approved the report of the simultaneous tree planting exercise on Saturday, 12th June 2010, in the cities of Kuala Lumpur at 6.00 p.m., London at 11.00 a.m. and New Delhi at 3.30 p.m..
  • Approved the report of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay Fun Run held in Dataran Merdeka on 13th June 2010.
  • Decided that NSAs who have not settled their payments for their Category B athletes of the Vientiane 25th SEA Games 2009, will not be permitted to send any of their athletes or teams under Category B to any future Games under OCM, until their payments are settled.
  • Discussed the preparation for the 29th OCM Annual Assembly 2010.

29th OCM Annual General Assembly 2010

The 29th OCM Annual General Assembly 2010 will be held on 26th June 2010 at 9.30 a.m. at the OCM Indoor Sports Arena, Level 3, OCM Indoor Sports Complex, Wisma OCM Phase II, Kuala Lumpur. Notice and the agenda for the General Assembly had been sent to the affiliates of OCM.

All affiliates of OCM, Ordinary and Associate Members are reminded to submit the names of their delegates (3 for Ordinary Members and 1 for Associate Members), with alternates, who will be attending the 29th OCM Annual General Assembly. The names of the delegates are to be submitted in the prescribed forms to OCM on or before 9.30 a.m. of 25th June 2010, by mail, fax or email.

Introducing Bobby Chen

Lord’s Taverners (Malaysia) Berhad together with The British Malaysian Society are presenting the world-renowned concert pianist Bobby Chen on 24th June 2010, at the Ballroom of Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian-born Bobby Chen studied at the exclusive Yehudi Menuhin School of Music and has preformed in respected venues such as Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall. 2010 FIBA – Asia Congress

The 2010 FIBA – Congress was held at the Park Royal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 20th June 2010. The incumbent President of FIBA – Asia, Sheikh Saud Ali Al-Thani of Qatar, retained his post as President of FIBA – Asia for the Session 2010/2014. He defeated Mr. Carl Ching of Hong Kong in a straight by 25 votes to 17 votes, with one spoilt vote.
