45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup

45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held November 13-20 at MIBC, Melaka. This is the second time Malaysian plays host to the 45th years old annual event which is expected to have participants from 96 countries sending one man and one woman (national champions of their respective country) bowlers. It is one of the biggest participating individual sport events in the world. Malaysia’s representatives this year would be Zumazran Zulkifli in the men’s division, and Siti Safiyah in the women’s division. Zulmazran Zulkifli finished 3rd last year at Mexico. 

The official practice is on Nov 15 in the morning before the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Dinner in the evening. The tournament rolls off on Nov 16th Nov. 2009.

3rd Asian Indoor Games 2009

The 3rd Asian Indoor Games 2009 was officially closed on 8th November 2009, by Mr. Timothy Fok, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia at the newly constructed Hanoi Indoor Athletics Palace. The 4th Asian Indoor Games will include the Asian Martial Arts Games and will be held in 2013. The host for the 4th Asian Indoor Games has not be selected. 

At the 3rd Asian Indoor Games, Malaysia competed in 8 sports at the 3rd Asian Indoor Games and managed to achieve its best ever results with 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 8 gold medals, to finish in 15th out of 43 NOCs in the overall medal tally.  Malaysia’s medalists are as follows:
