Manchester United To Play Second Match In Malaysia On Monday

KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 After a superb opening match of the 2009 Asia Tour series, the English Premier League champion, Manchester United will play a second match in Malaysia.

"They will once again play against the Malaysian Selection at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil at 8.45pm on Monday," chief executive officer of ProEvents Julian Kam said at a press conference, here, Saturday night.

"Looking at the tremendous reception the team received in Malaysia and the capacity crowd tonight, we believe that many fans would be eager to watch the team play once again.

"A second match will be given to fans who missed out to watch the players in action today. It will also give the Malaysian players another chance to play against Manchester United," Kam added.

Kam said with the current tense situation in Jakarta, the team had decided to cancel their trip there for safety reasons.

"Visitors from the UK who bought tickets to watch the match in Indonesia can bring their tickets to us and exchange them to get new tickets to watch the match on Monday.

"For fans in Indonesia who bought the tickets for the Jakarta match, they too can exchange their tickets to watch the match in Kuala Lumpur," said Kam.

According to him, the match organiser had arranged 3,000 seats in the National Stadium to be allocated to these fans.

"Although we have arranged 3,000 seats for those who bought tickets for the Jakarta match, we are expecting a bigger turnout on Monday," he added.

He said there will only be two types of tickets sold for the match on Monday, comprising RM308 for grandstand and RM58 for free seating.

Tickets can be purchased from ticket counters from Sunday onwards, starting at 12 noon, he said.
