Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA, 19 June 2007 - Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd and Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today announced that the Samsung Famemas supporter group will proudly fly the Malaysian flag and lead thousands of football fans across the country in cheering the Malaysian national team forward at the AFC Asian Cup 2007.

The launch celebrating Samsung's sponsorship of the AFC Asian Cup 2007 was graced by KDYPM Tengku Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah - Deputy President of FAM and Chairman of Local Organising Council of the AFC Asian Cup 2007.

"Samsung is excited to bring a premier football competition of football fans in the region. This sponsorship reaffirms our commitment to engage the local  communities by bringing true sporting culture closer to home," said Mr. Min Yong Ho, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

We will be there to shout-out our support for them at all home matches. In conjunction with the AFC Asian Cup 2007 football fiesta, Samsung will host a booth at the fan village at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, where it will organise a wide range of fun and interactive activities with opportunities for fans to win many prizes including mobile phones. From players to the fans, Samsung plans to celebrate the passion of everyone who contributes to the game.

The AFC Asian Cup 2007 will be attended by approximately 1500 Samsung Famemas supporters and invited guests who will be seated in the designated Samsung Zone. These passionate football fans will be provided with macth tickets and cheering accessories to root for the national team during each home macth. Football fans can also join the Samsung family of supporters by purchasing Samsung mobile phones at participating outlets.

Online Activities with Samsung Fun Club Football Fans also log on the Samsung Fun Club (http://www.samsungmobile.com/) wesite to take part in interactive online football games and find out the latest promotions that will enable them to be in running to win attractive mobile phone prizes and Samsung jersey and caps during this period.

Football fans can also join the Samsung family of supporters by purchasing mobile phones at selected participating outlets. They will receive tickets to watch the Malaysian team play and also radeem exclusive match souvenirs while stocks last.

Samsung - Committed to a Tradition of Sport In spreading the passion for the game, Samsung will be hosting youths from Cybercare network of orphanages and inspiring these next generation of potential football heroes with an extraordinary experience at the AFC Asian Cup 2007. Samsung has always involve the Cybercare network of orphanages in activities wherever possible to ensure continuos interaction and support to the orphans.
